TMCX PARTNERS

The Tropos Metro Compliant Extensions (TMCX) was developed by Tropos as a best practice specification for Wi-Fi devices used in outdoor Wi-Fi networks.

After several years of extensive testing and feedback from hundreds of worldwide deployments, Tropos developed a solid understanding into how and why all Wi-Fi client devices aren't created equal. Most Wi-Fi clients were created to operate indoors, but the outdoor environment and metro-mesh business models present additional challenges to client operations. To help make the end-user experience more consistent and seamless, Tropos created the TMCX specification, which outlines a set of best practices for Wi-Fi device manufacturers and chip vendors. Over time, the TMCX specification has been enhanced to include mobile and voice devices. Vendors who validate their implementation of the mandatory TMCX specification elements can apply to Tropos to be approved as a TMCX compliant solution.
